Have put both to heavy use on the last week. A couple of those Epicurean thin boards were brought back from the brink of extinction and three olive wood boards I use often have never looked better. A 1.5” Catskill huge board that gets the bulk of the heavy work here is looking fantastic. The leather set has been liberally used on a couple Saddleback bags and made them just perfect and some elk work gloves have been treated and feel perfect.
I used these on a pair of leather boots that I’d beaten up and let get super dried out in salt water and other gunk. I followed the instructions for each (application was super easy) and I’m amazed by how much better these boots look! I will definitely be using these on all of my other leather goods.
My parents had a large, leather, handcrafted backpack from Costa Rica from 30+ years ago that hadn't gotten any kind of attention, so although it had been safely stored, it had dried out to the sickly pale color you see in the first few photos. The leather was somewhat brittle, felt dry to the touch, and squeaked when being moved around at all. I applied the oil to the entire pack inside and out, let it dry for 24hrs, wiped away any excess, then did the same with the wax on top for a little more waterproofing, and the results speak for themselves. The leather is now supple, soft, the rich dark color you see in the "after" photo, and no longer squeaks at all but ripples rather beautifully. I'm stunned with how this did a complete 180 after just a few hours of work, and I hope it will maintain this color and moisture health for a long time to come. THANK YOU, WALRUS OIL!
These products work extremely well on the shop apron and my work boots. Soaks in really well, softens the leather and really nice on the hands.
After using the leather oil and wax on a couple pairs of boots, I ended up applying it on pretty much all of my leather gear. I'm definitely pleased with the results.
