Soy Solvent by Walrus Oil is 100% made from soy beans and is the most natural and safest product we offer for thinning our wood finishes for a deeper penetration and faster cure time, up to 3x faster to be exact! Our Soy Solvent can also be used as a paint stripper, cleaning agent, degreaser, and it's even heavy duty enough for cleaning roof shingles. Unlike many solvents on the market that are highly toxic, flammable, or fatal, our Soy Solvent is non-toxic, safe for food-contact surfaces, and doesn't leave a potent scent lingering for days and weeks.

With virtually no VOCs when mixed with oil-based finishes and less than 6% on it's own, we guarantee you'll be just as proud as we are about our new natural solvent.

IMPORTANT PRODUCT INSTRUCTIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
Mix 5% - 15% Soy Solvent with Pure Tung Oil for faster cure.
Mix 15% - 30% Soy Solvent with Pure Tung Oil for thinner finish + faster cure.

In some cases you can mix up to a 50/50 blend, but this may not work best with every hardwood species. Because solvents in their pure form can be used as a finish stripper, adding too much solvent to finishes can have adverse reactions. We recommend starting with a small ratio (10% - 20% Soy Solvent) and working your way up only if needed.

Note: Walrus Oil Furniture Finish, Furniture Butter, and Furniture Wax already contain Soy Solvent. Adding too much Soy Solvent can cause the finish to dry too fast and feel sticky. It is best to mix only very small amounts with finishes that already contain solvents.

When mixing a solvent with finishes, for best results test the mixture on a small area of wood before applying to entire surface to make sure you like the results.
