In contrast, virgin or unrefined coconut oil is derived from fresh coconut meat, undergoes minimal processing, and has a solid consistency at room temperature due to its high saturated fat content. Without fractionation it will spoil and go rancid, rendering it unsuitable for wood conditioning.
