Walrus Oil Citrus Solvent is a natural, food-contact safe alternative to mineral spirits and harsh chemical solvents, perfect for DIYers, furniture restorers, and weekend woodworkers. Made from natural citrus peels and also known as d-Limonene or orange solvent, it's ideal for thinning natural oil finishes like Tung Oil and Linseed Oil, helping them penetrate deeper and dry faster. It's also great for cleaning wood, removing grime and old finishes, and prepping antique and vintage furniture for refinishing. Mix it with water to create a versatile all-surface cleaner for everyday projects. Unlike other technical-grade citrus solvents that may contain added chemicals, Walrus Oil Citrus Solvent is food-contact safe, making it a great choice when safety matters.

Application
Mix Citrus Solvent with oil-based wood finishes to achieve desired consistency and to help finish dry faster. For the first coat, more solvent may be used to help finish penetrate deeper. When applying additional coats of finish, less solvent may be used. As normal, allow 12-24 hours to dry between coats. To thin Pure Tung Oil, Polymerized Tung Oil, Furniture Oil, and Furniture Butter, we recommend starting with a 1:1 ratio (or lower). Due to it’s thickness, to thin Polymerized Linseed Oil start with a 2:1 ratio (solvent-to-finish). Only mix solvent in metal paint cans or metal containers.
