Natural Danish Oil Conditioner for Sealing and Protecting Wood Surfaces

Walrus Oil's Furniture Finish is a high quality curing oil made of Tung Oil, Polymerized Linseed Oil, and Safflower Oil. Perfect for hardwood chairs, dressers, picture frames and other woodworking projects. This penetrating, wood finish deeply soaks into hardwoods, enhancing and locking in the wood’s natural colors and tones. Furniture Finish dries quickly, bonds strongly to wood, and cures to a smooth, natural matte finish.

Made without dyes or added dryers, Furniture Finish is a completely natural, VOC-free, vegan-friendly wood finish that is 100% food-contact safe.

Coverage: 3 - 4.75 sq/ft per ounce, depending on wood and sanding grit.

Furniture Finish Product Details

Cutting Board Oil is non-polymerizing and is designed for food cutting surfaces that need to be washed frequently. Our Furniture Finish line is made of polymerizing oils, hard waxes, and pine rosin and is better designed for furniture that needs a hard surface protection.

Use on hardwoods that are sanded between 220 - 400 grit. The lower the grit, the deeper the oil will soak. The higher the grit, the smoother the wood will feel. To prevent raised grain, always use the "sand, wet, sand" method. Apply thin layer of oil until entire surface is covered. Wipe away excess after 24 hrs. Repeat until desired number of coats and look is achieved. After final coat, allow 24 - 48 hours for surface to become dry to touch. May take up to 1 week to be completely dry to touch and up to 4 weeks to be completely cured. While curing, it's ideal for the wood piece to be kept in a temperature controlled environment. Humidity and high heat can prolong cure time. Keep liquids off surface for up to 4 weeks. For more application guidelines, visit our "Product Instructions" page!

Furniture Oil

I have been using the furniture oil/finish on my propagation stations, incense burners, and other assorted items. It is safe, easy to apply, and provides a long lasting finish. Highly recommended.

Perfect Product, Perfectly Safe

I can't say enough wonderful things about Walrus Oil. If it's safe for use on a butcher block or cutting board in the kitchen then it's certainly safe for use on my outside ipe wood railings and my cedar decks. And as a test I applied a coat to one of the deck planks - it immediately brought out the natural grain and color of the plank, and when it rained the water beaded on it until it evaporated - which is exactly what I'd hoped would happen. Fantastic product, I'll definitely be ordering more as I have a lot of wood floors, furniture, deck space and a cedar fence that I am rebuilding after an addition to my home required its demise. Walrus Oil is a misnomer - there's no animal product in it, it's all natural organic oils that in this combined formula allows for safe use on any surface and it surpassed my expectation of a non-eco-friendly Penofin oil that was a complete disaster. Thank you for making such a wonderful product - there are so many uses for it!

Perfect Product, Perfectly Safe

I have a two 8x8 corner overlapping Alaskan Yellow Cedar decks on the front of my house. When I built them I used an opaque stain - big mistake, it eventually wore off in an uneven way. After power-washing the failed stain off I was left with bare wood - not good for a deck in rainy Seattle. Another option was Penofin stain but that stuff is caustic and very flammable. I needed a safer and more reliable oil for preserving the decks. That's when I found Walrus Oil - fantastic product! If it's safe enough to use on cutting boards and butcher block in the kitchen then it's certainly safe enough for a deck. I liked it so much I placed a 2nd order.

So far, so good

Great customer service, but I haven't had time enough to test the product fully. No problems with the first coat.
